HIKARI (LIGHT)

“Hope transforms pessimism into optimism. Hope is invincible. Hope changes everything. It changes winter into summer, darkness into dawn, descent into ascent, barrenness into creativity, agony into joy. Hope is the sun. It is light. It is passion. It is the fundamental force for life’s blossoming.” –  Daisaku Ikeda

Hikari is Japanese for light. Light is hope. Imagine when you are lost in a jungle, you can’t figure how to get yourself out this, you are so scared and you eventually losing hope. But, you look at the moonlight, it looks like you finally figured out something, it makes you believes, it encourages you to move forward, it guided your direction, eventually it helped you go through your lonely night. Everyone has that one time, feeling you are at the cliff and you feel like giving up. Believing yourself needing so much courage. Please, for once, trust yourself, here I quote from Daisaku Ikeda again, resolve to be the “sun.” Then no matter what problems you may face, the dawn will always break, fine weather will always return, and spring will never fail to come.

To embrace this idea, we design a Butsudan with a collage of diff wooden blocks to illustrate light trail. Hope it reminds you of hope and strength.

We are only using Wood under Sustainable Forestry &  Recycled Wood Fiber

Wood under Sustainable Forestry category – All of the wood in this product come from forests that are certified well-managed according to the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®). Qualifies as FSC® 100% & USGB LEED MR7. All of the contents of our wood products that bear a 100% FSC® label come from forests certified as being in compliance with the environmental and social standards of the Forest Stewardship Council®.

Recycled Wood  – It is a by-product of other wood manufacturing processes, and includes the resultant waste such as sawdust, veneer backer boards, peeler cores, and so forth. This type of recycled content is described as “pre-consumer” or “post-industrial” (the latter is the term we favor). Note: there is also “post-consumer” recycled content, which involves recycling wood products & wood fiber that has already been used by consumers and discarded is now reworked into new products or simply reused as is.

It has taken us 3 months of research and development for us to arrive at the decision of using 4 types of wood to ensure our butsudan is built well under special metrics for quality and stabilisation.

Every solid piece is built and put together by hand.

We love and appreciate wood even down to its texture and grains. Hence, we promise that every Butsudan we make will have its own texture, personality, as they are from different trees.

As we believe in keeping Planet Earth green, The wood we use are of agricultural & recycle timber wood which is 100% environmental friendly.

You will not see a nail on the wood we use for our Butsudan.

The 4 layers of outdoor coating we apply to the wood takes at least 7 hours on each layer to dry and we repeat this cycle over and over again.

Our Butsudan can easily be mixed and matched with different designs and will not fail to blend in well with any of your home furniture.
